I like your changes and reasoning, which is why I don't review games. I used to do that a lot in a previous life, and it always felt rushed to me. Reviews are about much more than a score, though I do find that many reviews here on Substack are more thoughtful than then 'played it in a weekend' crowd.

Kudos for making a positive change to how you do things. So many people don't and it just leads to burn out or resentment.

If I could suggest one thing, it would be to label your Let's Play-based writing something like 'Impressions' rather than 'Reviews'. This should prevent anyone from getting upset that you're reviewing a game you haven't played.

Of course, feel free to ignore this! It'll be good to see the new system roll out.

Yeah I was going back and forth but Impressions makes sense and they won’t be individual reviews anyway, I’ll mention them in future updates.

I'm under similar constraints and have struggled with traditional reviews too. I've gone to impressions, when I can...but even that is falling off the radar a bit.

So...will keep changing it up until I find something that works!
