So, I wanted to do a quick article explaining where I have been and what’s happened in the last two weeks. For starters, I came down with COVID. After 4 years of dodging it, it finally got me. I’m one of the people who got a vaccine and then never followed up with the boosters. It’s safe to say that’s a mistake I’m never making again. COVID hit me HARD. I had a week with a fever and a constant migraine. I ended up getting a bad ear infection and a slightly perforated eardrum. While I have finally tested negative and I’m feeling much better, I still have a cough and some shortness of breath. I also have this annoying fullness feeling in my right ear (the one that got the bad infection). The doctor told me it could take time and I’m taking all the necessary steps to get back to 100 % and get rid of the fullness feeling in my ear.
So yeah, COVID hit me hard. My wife got it as well, but she’s boosted all the way and it seemed to hit her less hard than me. She’s doing much better now. Luckily, I was able to work from home so no major loss to my normal income. As for gaming? I haven’t really done any. I finally played some Sea of Stars and I’m ready to start writing articles again. I plan to get my usual series going (History of Gaming, the re-launch of Strachey’s List, and Side Vault). Hopefully, I can get at the very least one article out next week, but I need to make sure I don’t push myself and take things one step at a time. I have to go see an ENT doctor about my ear and I have to make sure I don’t get myself tired by trying to play catch up. But, I am going to do my best to get stuff out.
Anyone that follows me on social media and wished/prayed for me to get well, I thank you. It was a rough 2 weeks. Hopefully, this weekend is the start of turning the corner and getting much healthier. So, just wanted to update anyone wondering what’s been happening. Hope to get more from the newsletter starting next week. And please get vaccinated/boosted. COVID is no joke.
